Happy Easter!

Week 3

Hi everyone!

I'm getting to be such a big girl- 3 weeks old!  Last week, mom realized that my newborn side snap shirts were getting a little snug, so I moved into big girl onesies.  Here's me in my Twitter onesie #nowtrending helping dad with some emails.

I debuted this on Twitter's 7th Birthday!

My Great Aunt Carol got me this mobile that mom says I'm going to love when I get older.  Here's me laying in my crib (for the first time)! and sort of checking out my mobile...

I also took my first car ride since I came home from the hospital and it was to NEW JERSEY!  When we were driving over the George Washington Bridge, one of mom's favorite tunes from the Great Jersey Shore came on.  I think it's a sign that NJ is welcoming me!

Week 2

Hi everyone,

It's me, Gillian.  What a week I've had!  I've really been learning alot about life outside the belly.

Some things I discovered that I like:

• Being cuddled by mom and dad (when I feel like it)
• Playing with dad 
• Sleeping with my arms in my face or above my head (I did this in the belly, which you can see in all of my sonogram pics)!
• A delicious meal of warm milk!

It's been a lot easier for me to figure out what I DON'T like:

• Hanging out for one hot second in my dirty diaper
• Getting my diaper changed (so pretty much anything related to diapers) 
• Baths (though I've only had a washcloth bath because of my umbilical cord.  I'm hoping that real bathtime will be more enjoyable)!
• Being swaddled is my worst nightmare, which I let everyone know by screaming when it's time to suit up.  It does help me sleep though, so once it's on, I guess it's not that bad!

Needless to say, mom and dad have been learning these things right along with me.  Dad went back to work today so mom and Mimi are holding down the fort.

A week of firsts...

Gillian had a pretty exciting week, filled with firsts.  We did bathtime, tummy time, took a walk outside in her new stroller and had a few visitors.  Mom and Dad learned the true meaning of having a newborn when we found ourselves up at 2am, 4am....

Gillian's First Bath Pics

Hi all!

We've been having a lot of fun with Gillian and wanted to share some pics from her first week:

Welcome Gillian Reese Tully!

This Saturday, March 2, 2013, we finally got to meet our little girl, Gillian Reese Tully.  She was born at 6:49am, weighing in at 7lbs, 15oz, measuring 19.5 inches in length.  Worth noting is her full head of blond hair, which has impressed not only friends and family, but nurses and doctors as well, (and I really believe these people see it all).  There will be no paternity test needed with this baby, as she not only shares her daddy's coloring, but his good looks, as well.

We have been told that what awaits will be our greatest adventure yet, and we hope to use this blog to share some of the highlights.  It was previously used to make fun of Chad share stories of our honeymoon, when we traveled to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia, but the title seems relevant to all that lies ahead of us.  It remains to be seen who is really in training, but I can assure you that Gillian will likely require the least over the coming years.

Hoping to use this as a place to post pictures and videos, as well.  Here's to our greatest joy, adventure and learning experience yet....
